5 Days Tour from Lhasa to Yamdrok Lake

We booked a trip with Janet at TCT during February 2017. The trip needed to be tailored to our needs.... few days in Beijing, few days in Xian and a few days in QuFu (Shandong Province) where we were visiting our son. The help and service received from Janet and TCT were outstanding. Recommended, and we will definitely use Janet on our next trip to China. All guides were fine, and for individual trips we had transfers arranged, and they were always on time and excellent drivers. Thank you Janet and TCT.

My parents and I used top China travel for ten days across China, they were excellent to deal with. The Guilin trip was amazing, such wonderful place I highly recommend it to everyone. our guide was very helpful and went well beyond expectations to make sure we were comfortable and got to see all the things we wanted to. My husband and I booked a two week private tour of China with Top China Travel. It was an excellent experience. Vicky, a tour consultant, offered us a very good program visiting Beijing, Xian, Zhangjiajie, Shanghai and Nanjing. We really enjoyed every location. The tour guides were knowledgeable and helpful. In Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing me made our own hotel reservation and in Xian an Zhangjiajie TCT made the reservations for us. Lunch was included in the tour and the selection of the restaurants was excellent in most locations (except Xian). Overall great tour!

We hired TCT as a private guide with car for travel to Beijing, Shanghai and Huanzhou. TCT prepared the day-by-day program, booked first class hotels and train tickets and arranged for very good English speaking guides, among them Cathy in Beijing was amamzing. The cars were veryy good, the drivers were diriving very well but carefully. The program was followed with a very high degree of precision and the guides and drivers allowed also for flexibility. We enjoyed the trip very much and also very much appreciated the services provided bt TCT. The attractions included were paid in advance.

I have taken a 8 days tour program for one of my distinguished client from top china travel and it was the one of my best decision. We used Top China Travel for planning our trip from Shanghai to Hangzhou. Bonnie from TCT was our contact person. She was very helpful, corresponded with us by email before our trip and was extremely responsive and flexible, trying to accommodate our interests. . Every aspect of the trip was well planned and organized. She purchased our tickets on the bullet train, reserved our hotel in Hangzhou (hotel Shangri-La), arranged for airport transfer, and excellent private guide in Hangzhou and Shanghai. I can't recommend this company enough!! I started talking to Yocky via the chat system on their website, as we wanted to do a 2.5 week trip around China. Our itinerary was: Shenzhen-Beijing-Xian-Kunming-Dongchuan-Chengdu-Guilin-Sanya Here's how things went: 1) She was instant in her replies and responded to subsequent emails within the hour (and trust me, I sent A LOT of emails). She was always so thorough and efficient. 2) She made us a tailor made trip that covered everything we wanted, including some slightly more off the beaten track attractions. 3) She helped us keep to our budget and suggested reasonable things we could cut out when things were too expensive (not something many companies would do as they are trying to make a quick buck). 4) She listened to all of our requests for things such as early morning flights, vegetarian food, and readjusting itineraries. 5) All our drivers and guides were EXCELLENT; they were prompt, kind, spoke excellent English and had a wealth of knowledge about all the sites we saw. All the cars on our private tours were nice and comfortable and had water. 6) Despite asking for 3* hotels, all 7 hotels we stayed in seemed like 4* to us and all included breakfast. 7) With such a large and complicated trip there were bound to be a few hiccups (e.g. there was a marathon in Xian one day which meant a lot of roads were closed, so we couldn't access sites). Yocky was in touch with us the entire time and helped us rearrange our plans quickly and ordered complimentary tickets to a show to make up for the inconvenience. We were so nervous about our first trip to China as we speak no mandarin and are strict vegetarian but honestly this was one of the best trips of our life; this company made it so easy for us and I really can't imagine having been able to do it myself any better!

During the three days in BEIJING,we visited the Tiananmen square,forbidden city,temple of heaven,the Great Wall,summer palace etc.Our tour guide Eric was very helpful and knowledgeable.We were so lucky to have Rebecca as our tour agent,she organized everything for us and we really enjoyed it.It was one of the most enjoyable locations I ever spent.

We were 10 friends and we took a 13 day trip to Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Cruise on Yangtze River and Shanghai. Everything was so perfectly and professionally organized by Bonnie. She was so helpful and responded very promptly to all our questions and requests. The tour was perfect to our taste and we have seen and done all that we wanted. Vicky Lu of TCT was great! She always replied to my emails quickly and fully answered all our questions, which we found really helpful and efficient. She took the time to understand what we liked and wanted to do, and our budget, and designed an amazing 2 week holiday with private tours of 3 fantastic places: Zhangjiajie (absolutely amazing!!!!), Guilin (beautiful and fun) and Xi'an (Terracotta Warriors are an absolute MUST, plus cycling on the Ancient Wall into the evening, and the thrill of Mt Huashan). It was all so easy, no fuss and no wasted time, with friendly English-speaking guides waiting for us on arrival and smoothing the way for hotel check-ins, getting tickets, and entries to the parks and attractions. It was all professional and just right, no rushing us on, no shopping/factory stops, no bus-loads of people to always be waiting on, etc... The TCT tour was professionally organised and was excellent. From chatting with other travellers at brekky and seeing the masses of local and overseas tourists at all the attractions, without our TCT guides we would have spent a HUGE amount of time getting there, getting tickets and lining up for everything, and spending crazy amounts of time communicating through phone translation apps (generally there are very few English speakers). We reckon that with our TCT guides we got AT LEAST twice as much time everywhere we wanted to be, with private drivers taking us straight from place to place with no waiting, the guides getting us in everywhere with minimal delays, and taking us straight to nice nearby restaurants for good lunches (included in the tour price), giving us maximum quality time enjoying ourselves in nice places. So we can totally recommend TCT and Vicky Lu.. great job, reliable, no hassles, and thanks very much for an exceptional China tour Vicky!!

With TCT I have organized a 21 days tour for my family: my wife, my 9 years old daughter and me (in august ) We asked to Rebecca (our TCT consultant), who has patiently worked for more than 6 months on all details, to see, not only the most interesting things but to understand a little the Chinese way of life. The goal of the journey was to let my daughter to see different way of life and unusual (for us) landscape. The other objective was to visit China like a Chinese tourist can do. All these things weren’t easy to organize, but after more than six months of planning we were exited to visit the Country and we had really high expectation. It seems impossible but all the goals have been reached and TCT make us to live unforgettable visit of China. During the organization of the tour Rebecca suggested us to add some destinations to our trip and that makes our trip something unique. One the most interesting thing is that in most of the hotel (all 4 stars – western standard- and really comfortable) we never meet western people, that mean we were out of usual tour. All the guides had high professional behavior, knowledge and did their best to let us to see as much as possible. Consider that we were with a 9 years old child and nothing went wrong. All the drivers, considering the traffic situation in China, have been super! They did all the best in order to take us closer to all attractions in the safest way. Guides and drivers has been very flexible. Some days we have been together more than 12 hours! All the guides make arrangement of the tour in order to avoid queue and visit more. That has surprise me a lot. We have visited places like Mt.Huangshan, Hongcun Village (set of the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Tulou in Fujian , Shaolin Zen Music Ritual in Denfeng (a show that worth the journey in China – the biggest stage we ever seen - , suggested by Rebecca) or arhat clay statues at White Horse Temple in Louyang ( if you have seen Terraccota Army in Xi’an you will remain astonished in front of this sculptures), descending from Grat Wall with a toboga, ride a bike on Xi’an city wall or visit a daily market in Beijing. We have attended to the Mask Changing show and 1000 Hands Dance , few minute show but hard to find in a show. Just to list some of the wonderful things we have experienced. But, the most astonishing thing has been that in some places “we were the attraction”. Western people were so unusual that parents asked to my daughter to take pictures with their children !!! Very Chinese !!! In Guilin we meet Rebecca from TCT after little bit less than one year of e-mails ! A great moment too. The only thing that TCT could not manage was the weather, but we have been lucky. Quite always blues sky and just one day of heavy rain. We could not ask more ! A special thanks to our guides Tony around Huangshan, Candy in Shangai, Mike in Xi’an, Mina in Fujian and Shane in Luoyang. And a special special thanks to Linda in Beijing and Tina in Guilin that have done so much for us in order satisfy all our wishes! Deep knowledge, flexibility and enthusiasm made us to enter in Chinese culture. . Interesting, safe and well organized! We are thinking to visit more China in the future with TCT, we trust them !

My daughter and I took a private tour with Top China Travel to Shanghai, Guilin, Chengdu, Xian and Beijing. I really enjoyed the private tour as opposed to a bus tour, because we were able to discuss some details with our tour guides and make slight changes to the itinerary. For example, we loved the Panda Reserve in Chengdu, so instead of leaving early to have lunch elsewhere, we were able to eat sandwiches there and spend more time with the pandas. Also, while visiting Tiananmen Square I commented to our guide that it would be interesting to go inside Chairman Mao's Mausoleum someday and see his preserved body. The guide noticed that the line wasn't long and asked if we'd like to go now. We said 'yes', and he took us in even though it wasn't on the itinerary. We had to pay a small fee to check our bags since no bags are allowed inside, but we loved our guide's flexibility. Bus tours aren't as flexible. Two of our favorite days were the Chengdu Panda Reserve and hiking the Wohushan Great Wall. I must mention that hiking the Wohushan Great Wall was very difficult and took every ounce of energy we had; it isn't for everyone. But if you are in good shape and love challenging hikes, you may really enjoy this hike. (Other visitors should visit another section of the Great Wall.) Another favorite day happened in Shanghai. It was a very personal day. My daughter was adopted from Shanghai, so we asked Janet at Top China Travel to help us visit her orphanage. They were able to arrange this visit. It meant a lot to us. The two places where I wish we had spent more time was in Guilin and the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. Guilin is a lovely town with five lakes that are connected and surrounded by a park that stretches across the small city. There is also a lovely shopping area in town. It would have been nice to have another two - four hours to simply walk and relax in Guilin. It can get hot there, so this extra time might not be fun if its mid-day during the summer months. The Temple of Heaven was nice, but what I really loved was the park surrounding it. The Chinese gather there to exercise, practice martial arts, sing, dance, play games and much, much more. I could have easily spent 2 hours simply relaxing in the park watching people. All of the hotels were nice and clean. All of the breakfast meals at the hotels were wonderful. All of our guides were eager to please, although we had trouble understanding a couple of them. There English was always good, but sometimes the pronunciation needed improvement. Our favorite guides were Cherry in Guilin and Jimmy in Beijing. We loved our tour agent, Janet. She was helpful from the beginning of the planning process all the way through the end of our trip. If I return to China, I will use Top China Travel again.

From the 1st point of contact till the end Joyce was great and helped plan a perfect trip which I was for a short time in Beijing. I was traveling alone and was recommended to join a small group of fellow travelers which was perfect. Great tour guide with a clean bus. Pick up on time and overall a great experience.
